Jeff Ruby’s Cincinnati Steakhouse to Move to The Foundry at Fountain Square in 2022
New flagship location will be the most luxurious and beautiful of Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment restaurants
CINCINNATI (August 6, 2021) – In its 40th anniversary year, Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment (JRCE) announced today that Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse in Cincinnati will relocate to the newly converted Foundry at Fountain Square in 2022. The Foundry is Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC)’s conversion of the former Macy’s-anchored Fountain Place into a modern, mixed-use development, directly across the street from Cincinnati’s Fountain Square. The new location will become the flagship restaurant of Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment’s family of fine dining steakhouses.
“Fountain Square is the iconic center of this amazing city,” said Jeff Ruby, Founder and Chairman of JRCE. “It’s where people go to get engaged, where we party after big wins, where we celebrate life. I’m honored that we will be able to add to its legacy and bring joy with world-class dining experiences.”
The new Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse location at The Foundry will become Jeff Ruby’s legacy restaurant. It promises to be as ultra-luxurious and unique as his other 7 regional restaurants with elegant dining rooms, a beautifully furnished patio, multiple rooms for private dining & events, valet parking, and the elevated steakhouse fare that has earned Ruby’s eateries national acclaim as can’t-miss destinations.
Live entertainment is a key element of the Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse Experience and this new location will fully deliver. A full-service bar & lounge with an elevated stage for live performances will feature a stunning, circa 1860 Steinway Baby Grand Piano made entirely of 24 karat gold plated bronze and Mother of Pearl flanked by two dramatic torchieres that provide the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable night.
A familiar name in the Cincinnati culinary community will take the reins as head chef at the new location. Dylan Jones, currently Ruby’s Executive Chef in Lexington, will move back to his hometown and serve in the same role when the new restaurant opens at the Foundry.
JRCE worked closely with developer 3CDC to select an ideal location within the Foundry, with the new 12,000-square-foot space being located at 505 Vine Street in the space formerly occupied by The Booksellers on Fountain Square. The project is contracted to be built by Turner Construction.
“Working with 3CDC and Turner has been a wonderful experience,” said Britney Ruby Miller, CEO of JRCE. “Their enthusiasm and responsiveness to bring this project to fruition has instilled a great deal of confidence in our team and we can’t wait for what’s ahead.”
“Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouses are an institution in Cincinnati, and we couldn’t think of a more fitting tenant for this essential space in our urban core,” Adam Gelter, Executive Vice President of Development for 3CDC, said. “The excitement generated at this new flagship Ruby’s location will be the perfect complement to the vibrancy across the street at Fountain Square.”
After the move, the Steakhouse’s existing Walnut Street space will be converted into a full-service Event Center, offering luxury group dining and events for up to 250 guests. Off-premise catering will also be added as an element of this new venture.
Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse was among the first tenants in 1999 that helped revitalize the downtown Cincinnati area now known as the Backstage District. This location became the first of what has grown to 5 nationally-acclaimed Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse branded restaurants. It will now become the very first Jeff Ruby Event Center.
“Neil Bortz has been a terrific landlord and partner at 700 Walnut,” added Ms. Miller. “We’re very thankful for his support of our new venture.”
Jeff Ruby’s Steakhouse will remain open and vibrant until its relocation in late 2022 at which time the Event Center will begin construction.
