Funk Legend Bootsy Collins, Food Legend Jeff Ruby CINCINNATI (April 3, 2008) -- Restaurateur Jeff Ruby and music legend Bootsy Collins announced today plans for a new restaurant and nightclub in downtown Cincinnati, to be named Bootsys produced by Jeff Ruby that will open in the Fall of 2008. Located near the intersection of Seventh and Walnut across the street from the Aronoff Center for the Arts and in the heart of the Backstage Entertainment District, the restaurant will feature a Spanish-influenced menu with tapas and sushi bars, and will include seating at the exhibition kitchen. Bootsys also will have two patios in the front and back of the restaurant, along with nightly DJ music in the club area. The downstairs level will hold the Bootsy Collins Rock and Roll Museum with music memorabilia that Collins has collected during his 30 years in the music business. Las Vegas designer Dave Stevens traveled to Paris to set the tone of the design for the restaurant. I wanted to stimulate the citys first true entertainment district along Walnut Street, said Jeff Ruby. I truly believe in this area and Bootsy Collins was the perfect partner to make this happen. We will create tapas-style servings because the new trend is sampling, said Jimmy Gibson, Executive Chef for Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment. People dont want 17 bites of the same thing, they want four or five different tastes in smaller portions, with more variety, so they can share. ### The Jeff Ruby Culinary Entertainment group includes The Precinct; The Waterfront; Carlo & Johnny; Jeff Rubys Tropicana; and Jeff Rubys steakhouses in downtown Cincinnati, Louisville next to the Galt House and Belterra Resort & Casino. The prestigious Zagat restaurant ratings give Carlo & Johnny a higher steakhouse rating than any steakhouse in either Chicago or New York. |
